Ok so round 1 of this whole blog posting thing. I figured I would start with beginning photography projects and I guess a reflection on the class. Black and white film photography is not my thing PERIOD. Not having the ability to see my pictures as I was taking them was difficult for me to get over with and then the whole developing and printing process was just so time consuming. THANK GOD FOR DIGITAL CAMERAS. I think my dislike for the class came from the fact that I did take it during winter session. It was such a short amount of time and I wasn't use to using the camera and dealing with the settings until the last week of class and it was freeeezing out whenever I had to do shoots. Maybe if I took it during the spring the combination of the warmth and longer time to work with the camera would have been better.
Project 1: Exercises - Our teacher gave us seven different exercises to complete including a filter test. Out of the seven exercises we had to pick 1 exercise to print and hand in and then we had to take the picture we chose for the filter test and apply 4 different filters to make 4 different prints. My filter test photo was a white siding on a building that I found, my favorite filter was 3. I chose exercise 1 (take a picture with 3/4 sky and then 1/4 sky to see the difference of underexposing.)
