You Love Me Cause I'm So Crazy

New Type project (Type as Narration) deals with type in a narrative form to a song. We are to do both a book and an animation of kinetic type.

Heres the song i'm doing - 1980 by Rehab

Below is the narrative form of the song in a book

Rough Copy of my kinetic type animation - still have 2 weeks to clean it up (redoing chorus and fixing timing)

TYPEEE

Final wallpaper for Size Zero
- the color is suppose to be maroon.. (10" x 60")

Last thursday we went on a field trip to NYC. We were given the task to take pictures of different typographical experiences that we had and then create something that represents this experience. I used photos of my day and traced over the type with the pen tool to create an outline. From here I created 6 different squares all and then repeated them to create a large mass. The experience I was trying to create was that of how a person can feel so empty in such a big city and realize that they are such a little entity compared to their surroundings (this is represented by the red x)

Final size about 33" x 34"

InProgress

So this is one huge in progress entry.

Type2
Project #2: create 24 logos for a made up garment store from two chosen letters (yes we choose letters out of plastic bags) My letters: S & Z, we then needed to create a whole background for the store for when we explore the logos
Name: Size Zero
Stle: Upscale work to night time looks
Customer Base: Plus Size 20's-30's
Location: NYC
Marketing Mission: Company name is a play on how not everyone is a size zero and that the industry needs to focus on other body types. Size doesn't matter aka size zero.
Type Classifications of logo: Modern, transitional, geometric

(missing the hand drawn ones)

Next class we then narrowed the selection down and from this we then were to rework the logos and create 10 preliminary wallpaper patterns for a wall within the store.

(logos that I'm working with - missing 1)

(really crappy image quality/general)

Digital Printmaking
Project 1 - yet another wallpaper project... very open do what you want, I saw a dress with a similar pattern to this and decided to recreate it in Illustrator and make my wallpaper from it. Within one of the triangles I included my initials which relates back to the type initial wallpaper.

The end... (form to come once I figure out what is even going on)

Not worth it...

At this point it's not even worth me putting up the rest of the working with themes project for form. They are all pretty much crap. Guess I'll be redoing this project at some point. Awesome.

Theme - Ad's for steak magazine

(indifference)

Suggestions?

Part 3, make a type specimen poster. Rather than it being plain I decided to have a concept behind my poster. The concept is as if it was part of the instruction book from Battleship. Help finalize it pleaseee (I know the text looks like it is a little small but the posters final size is 13" x 19" - click on the picture to make it bigger)

Hit or Miss

Critique 1 of type went pretty well, I learned that there are no diagonals in the game battleship. Other than that though the typeface went well, final name = Hit or Miss. I tried to make a version with a white background however I don't think that it is as successful as the black version. The type specimen poster will most likely be black and and I'm going to try and play off the games instructions in order to create it.
